Visiting India and Bhutan, Temples and Dragons

TourismRomancing the exotic, India has been drawing fascinated visitors for thousands of years. Large and geographically diverse, the country's past lives are bookmarked by cherished monuments.

Beginning in Delhi, our tour stops at Qutub Minar, Humayun's tomb, India gate, and the Raj Ghat, Delhi's monument to Mahatma Gandi. A following flight to Bhutan, the Kingdom of the in Thailand O so popular Prince Jigme, nestled in the eastern Himalayas between India and Tibet, offers another experience entirely. Bhutan is a country with not much foreigners tourist, and we feel therefore like we part of one of Marco Polo's exotic expeditions.

Buddhist Bhutan is slowly but carefully opening its doors to outsiders, who are now discovering it as a journey back in time.

Here visitors enjoy Druk Yul, the "Land of the Thunder Dragon," the Himalayas' last hidden Kingdom. Numerous temples and monasteries make up the tour, including a hike to the Taktsang "Tiger's Nest" Monastery where, according to legend, Guru Rinpoche meditated after flying across the Himalayas on a tiger. Lastly, enjoy tea at Darjeeling, a favorite hill station during India's British Raj.
