The ministry of transport is preparing to allow public transportation vehicles to use fuel at a 1 Baht discount per liter, effective May 15 onwards. Mr. Kamrobrak Suraswadi, deputy minister of transport, revealed that after meeting with the Energy Policy and Planning Office to discuss measures to assist public transportation operators during the global oil crisis, it has been decided that public transports may receive a price reduction of 1 Baht per liter when filling up.
This includes buses, vans, trucks, and boats. Vehicles granted permission for fuel discounts will be registered at designated fuel stations to be able to receive their fuel quota.
The deputy minister added that the vehicle registration list will prevent fuel stations from alleging that they have an insufficient fuel surplus, as specific quotas at each station have been set aside to meet the demands of public transports.
