Caretaker PM Thaksin has returned to work at TRT office

At around 10 o'clock this morning, caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra traveled from his residential house to the Thai Rak Thai Party Head Office on Ratchavithee Road.

Media members are gathering at the party's head office, and are keeping a close eye on Mr Thaksin, following the news claiming that he will report himself to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives.

The Caretaker Prime Minister has been endorsed by the Election Commission (EC) as a party list member of the Thai Rak Thai Party.
Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra faced growing pressure to resign, since the sell-off of his family's controlling stake in Shin Corporation to Temasek Holdings, the Singapore government's investment agency. Although the SEC's investigation of the transaction cleared Thaksin of all wrongdoing, critics still accused him of insider trading, use of tax law loopholes, selling out the nation, and other offenses.

Within the Thai Rak Thai party and throughout the country Mr. Thaksin still has strong support, party leaders claimed they did not discussed Mr. Thaksin running for office in a new election.
